The service was great but the room is a little outdated but for a cheap motel in Caroline it really isn't that bad. The rooms allow smoking so if you're sensitive to that it's probably not the best place for you and I'm not certain they have none-smoking rooms.
They interrupted our nap, because there was an internet modem in our room that needed to be reset. Other than that, super nice for a small town Hotel. Room was pretty clean.
After having a couple of interesting experiences at our accommodations the previous night, we called to see if there was availability at the Gateway Motel. We explained our situation and we were allowed to check in early so that my family and I could shower. Upon check-in we were told that all the rooms on the lower floor were taken which was fine, however when she noticed my son limping from a knee injury she promptly came out and said she would upgrade us to a room with a kitchen so he didn’t have to go up the stairs. Going above and beyond for him. That kind gesture was very much appreciated. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the room we felt was priced fairly.
This is a nice little motel for a fair price. As many of the reviews state, it is a little outdated, but the room was very clean and quiet. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. It is centrally located to all the services one may need while staying in Caroline.
Used to be my favorite place to stay as I come and visit Alberta. I will miss this place alot.
